Dr. John R. Strubhar, Senior Pastor
Dr. John was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in a pastor’s home. He attended Westmont College and graduated from Fort Wayne Bible College in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts degree (cum laude). He further pursued studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, earning a Master of Divinity (cum laude) in 1973, a Master of Theology in 1975 (summa cum laude) and a Doctor of Ministry in 1980. He is committed to teaching and preaching the Word of God and places great emphasis on leadership development through training in the areas of spiritual, relational and managerial relationships. He believes that his primary role is to know God more and fall more deeply in love with Him every day!
Prior to his ministry at Maywood, Pastor Strubhar led churches in Illinois, Indiana and California. Most recently, he served as Executive Pastor at Boca Raton Community Church (Florida) and as District Superintendent of the Great Lakes District (EFCA). He is married to Sandy and is blessed with three adult daughters and ten grandchildren.
When he has opportunity, Pastor John enjoys reading, writing, biking and taking walks with his wife.
