Counseling

One of the ministries that Maywood offers is pastoral
counseling. These sessions are confidential. The counseling
ministry is free of charge. The pastoral staff does
reserve the right to make referrals if deemed necessary.

The Hilltoppers is a ministry of Maywood that provides
structure for fellowship and special events for
those retired and in their senior years of life.

Men's Fraternity

The Men's Fraternity is a ministry that seeks to equip
and encourage men to be better Christians, husbands
and fathers. The ministry is facillitated
through the material authored by Robert Lewis.

Mom's Day Out
|
|
This Maywood outreach ministry to our community is
designed to give mothers of young children an opportunity
to drop off their children at the church for two mornings
a week for some personal time; Mondays and Fridays.
The children are cared for by trained staff which
use activities, Bible stories, music, and snacks to
provide a quality experience while at Maywood.

MOPS Ministry

|
MOPS Ministry provides a Christ-centered, caring ministry
for expectant mothers and mothers of pre-schoolers
and their children. It develops friendships, creativity,
leadership training, and a personal relationship with
Jesus Christ. The Maywood family is encouraged to
invite their unchurched friends and neighbors. Many
women start at MOPS with their children and consequently
come back for church with their entire families.
The children's program (MOPPETS) is for children from
birth to age 5. It is a constructive, organized program
that includes crafts, Bible story time, snack time,
video time, gym time, rest time, and plenty of play.
The desire is to minister to the children as well
as to the mothers.
This ministry is based on Proverbs 27:17,
"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."
and Proverbs
22:6,
"Train a child in the way he should go, and
when he is old he will not turn from it."

Orchestra

The Praise Band is comprised of individuals using
their instrumental talents and gifts to worship
God (Psalm 150), accompany, and enhance the leading
of congregational worship at Maywood. Opportunities are available for orchestral instruments. Involvement
in the orchestra is a weekly commitment. For more info call 874-6806.

S.A.M. (Single Adult Ministry)
|
|
One of Maywood's newest ministries is S.A.M. (Single
Adult Ministry), geared toward single adults of varying
ages. Our purpose is to meet as a community of single
adults to serve, learn, fellowship and reach out as
Christ leads; we offer each other prayer support,
encouragement, friendship and accountability as we
endeavor to live as healthy believers. The "First
Saturday" meetings are held at the church in Room
129, at 7:00 p.m., with a focus on spiritual growth
and the "Third Saturday" events are designed around
either social or ministry activities.

Small Groups

The Small Group ministry of Maywood is essentially
defined as follows: "A small group within the church
is a voluntary intentional gathering of three to
twelve people regulary meeting together with the
shared goal of mutual Christian edification and
fellowship."

Women's Ministry

The purpose of the Women's Ministry is to nurture
women so they know Jesus Christ as personal Lord and
Savior, grow in the knowledge of God and in the fruit
of the Spirit (in Christian maturity), and sow the
truth of the Gospel in Christian Service. This ministry
is for all women of Maywood.
Highlights include
the Christmas Tea, Spring Brunch, Women's Retreat,
outreach events and activities, Missions Tea, Bible
studies, and Prayer Breakfast.

The Maywood Worship Choir

The focus of The Maywood Worship
Choir is to prepare the hearts and talents of its
members to lead in worship. The Maywood Worship
Choir is for those whose heart's desire is to
praise God through music. It is a ministry where
you belong to a family. Friends are made in choir
and strength is found during tough times as they
pray together each week.

AWANA - Children's Ministries
|
|
The focus of the AWANA Ministry is to reach boys and
girls with the gospel of Jesus Christ and to train
them to hide God's Word in the hearts through Bible
verse memorization. The program is for boys and girls
ages 3 through high school.
Highlights of the ministry include seeing boys and
girls accept Jesus Christ as their Savior, memorizing
God's Word, applying the lessons from the weekly devotional
and competing in the AWANA olympics.
This ministry is based on II Timothy 2:15:
"Be diligent
to present yourself approved to God as a workman who
does
not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word
of truth."
